“The George has a well earned reputation for great food, set on the village green in middle of the picturesque village of Alstonfield a sharp walk up the hill from popular Dove Dale. Their lunch menu is great for walkers and they offer fine dinning in the restaurant in the evening, with prices to match. T: 01335 310205”

“An unusual and interesting place, only accessible by cable car, into an open air museum depicting the history of lead mining there. There’s a really informative guided walking tour into one of the mines (be advised there are a lot of steps!). Fascinating for children too and there’s a good cafe and play park. ”
