This ancient building used to be a school and Charles Darwin was educated here. His statue is in the grounds. Take a walk (or lift) to the top floor which houses the musical section and see the hundreds of inscriptions carved into the old school benches hundreds of years ago.

One of the best ways to see the local sites is from the river. Hire a canoe for 60 mins or 3 hours and take a leisurely paddle along the River Severn.

This canoe hire place is just a few minutes down the hill from the Annexe. Exploring from the river gives a whole new perspective and can be very relaxing, especially on a hot day. Recent guests said: "The canoeing was great fun, though pretty pricey - £50 half a day ( which is 3 hours ) or £25/hour. I would still recommend it as really lovely experience."
