A gateway to the trails of Bear Mountain, Devil's Arch, and the Flatirons. Most of the trails are off-leash friendly for dogs. Be prepared-- while close to home, these trails become steep and gnarly very quickly!
Shanahan Ridge Trail is a 4.2 mile heavily trafficked loop trail located near Boulder, Colorado that features beautiful wild flowers and is rated as moderate. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, running, and nature trips and is best used from April until October. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.
You can hike all the way up to the bear peak summit, a small achievement for Sunday afternoon. The hike takes about 6 hours. Start at early morning if you want to summit the bear peak.
