This shoppe has souvenirs and all things white squirrel. Brevard’s town mascot is the white squirrel. Brevard has a large population of white squirrels, which have become revered and celebrated locally over the years. The story is a local woman was given a pair of white squirrels as a gift in the 1950s by the ringmaster of a circus that travelled through town. The squirrels escaped and mixed with the local squirrel population, and now have many descendants living in and around town. If you want to see a white squirrel in person drive down Probart St or check the grassy common area on the Brevard College campus as those tend to be white squirrel hot spots.
