Food Scene
I’m probably biased since I work next door, but this is my favorite spot for coffee or soft serve in town. The Hot Honey Latte is especially lovely on a dreary day, and the adffogato is perfection when it’s hot out! It’s located next to a Toy Store and Skate Shop, and across the street from Vinyl Tap, a record store and bar.

Hearts is easily my favorite brunch spot in East Nashville. Everything on the menu is delicious, but I always go back for the avo toast and a flat white. Most of the seating is outside, so save this for a beautiful day!

Everything else in this list is in East Nashville, but I’d be doing you a disservice if I didn’t recommend Dozen. I know I’ve said it a lot, but truly everything on this menu is delicious. The breads, baguettes, croissants, pies, cookies - all are made fresh daily in-house. My go-to is the egg sandwich and the coffee special of the day. If they aren’t sold out, I’ll also get the cranberry oat walnut cookies and save one for breakfast the next day. When trout salad is on the menu, I get that as a half tartine and add the seasonal salad. But y’all. It’s all so so good.

Walking distance! The fried avocado taco and chicken tortilla soup are sooooooo good. Margaritas are also very tasty. Be ready to wait in line on weekends, but anything on the menu is worth it!

Walking Distance! Butcher and Bee is known for their small plates, cocktails, and creative menu. The whipped feta is a staple, and shouldn’t be missed. Great for a nice dinner!

This is my go-to for food delivery when I want to stay in. Everything is good, but I usually go with a fried rice option and/or the TKO chicken. When I’m feeling frisky I take a chance on the chef’s choice/ surprise fried rice. Once I loved it and ate the whole huge serving, and once I had a couple bites and decided it wasn’t for me. 🤷🏼♀️

Shelby Bottoms connects to the Nashville Greenway, a trail system for walking or biking that encircles the city. There is a large park along with ramp access to the river for kayaking.
