Place Jourdan is a square in Etterbeek, a 10min walk from my apartment. There you can find many restaurants, bars, and brasseries. It is situated in close proximity to the Leopold Parc. You can also enjoy the excellent frites from the well known Maison Antoine.

Parc du Cinquantenaire (or Park of the 50th Anniversary), is a large urban park (30 hectares) with several museums (Autoworld, Royal Military Museum,...). Ideal for jogging and relaxing.

The Atomium is a building originally constructed for Expo 58, the 1958 Brussels World's Fair. It is 102m tall, nine 18m diameter stainless steel spheres are connected so that the whole forms the shape of a unit cell of an iron crystal magnified 165 billion times. You can visit the museum part or enjoy a panoramic view.

On Saturdays and Sundays the Grand Sablon hosts the Sablon Antiques and Books Market.
