The Salisbury Zoo is free and open everyday from 9am to 4:30pm except for Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. It is an easily walkable zoo with an epic playground (Ben’s Red Swings) attached.

The history behind the Salisbury Zoo is rich and all began in the early 1950's when wild animals were being released into Salisbury's Municipal Park. Employees of the public city works began taking care of the animals on their own, building cages and enclosures. By 1954 it had expanded so much that they formed their very own zoo. The zoo is free to enter but they do accept donations.
