Incredible sunsets off the pier. Although you would need to be in the military to reserve their sites, the pier and restaurant are open to the public. A hidden gem.

Check their website for events. They have free music spring through fall. Just take a chair & some snacks. All are welcome.

A variety of musical artists take the stage during the Free Summer Concerts held on the 2nd and 4th Fridays in June, July and August from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. The Annual Seafood Blues & Jazz Festival, in April of each year, is the most popular event with an abundance of activities, crafts, seafood and notable musicians on two stages.

Drive through the former base back to the river. There are great views there as well as some historic armaments. Spring-Fall there are weekend concerts. If you are lucky the cafe by the river is open. A great place for breakfast or beers.
