A network of trails starting from Avery Hill Rd, including a 1.7 mile marked loop trail that winds through fields and forests to reach the top of Pine Mountain. The trail traverses the Avery Field near the site of the former Avery Farm and ascends the west slope of Pine Mountain. Open blueberry barrens at the summit provide spectacular views of the entire Belknap Range, including Mount Major and Lake Winnipesaukee, as well as excellent blueberry picking in season. This is our personal favorite mountain. Its a quick easy hike where you get a lot of “bang for the buck”when you get to the top. The views are fantastic and in our opinion worth it because it’s not nearly as crowded as Mt Major gets. Weekdays are even less people. Get up early to see the sun rise over the mountains and lake. Pack a lunch. (1.9 miles round trip)
