The remarkable white cliffs can be seen all across Milos Island, and Kleftiko beach will not disappoint. Secluded and tranquil, boat tours make daily excursions, from Adamas, for scuba diving or snorkeling around the emerald waters of this glorious bay. It’s not really a beach for relaxing, more to take in the breathtaking natural beauty, with swimming in sea caves, arches, and some of the clearest water you’ll find anywhere in Greece. It’s not organised, but the white stone cliffs rising up out of the blue ocean will blow your mind.

The complex of these volcanic original rocks is a magical landscape worthy of admiration, and also a part to enjoy the sensation of the transparent blue-green waters and the sun. Kleftiko used to be an old hide-out for pirates from where the pirates’ ships used to pass and anchor so as to get protected in its small creeks and imposing rocks. Today, these unique geologic formations created by the wind and the sea, are the perfect place for swimming and exploration. They are accessible only by sea and for this reason we suggest you go on a sea trip to this magic landscape.

Kleftiko is a set of gray and white rocks with strange shapes and formations, with caves and pits. The complex of impressive volcanic rocks that were created over the years by air and sea, in the turquoise waters of the Aegean, are the trademark of Milos. Its name is due to the action of pirates, who for centuries acted in the Aegean Sea terrorizing unsuspecting merchant ships, using as a base the cavernous shores of South Milos. They hid and set up cartridges until a ship appeared to loot it. Admiral Kanaris stopped their action after the revolution of 1821, protecting the Aegean islands from the scourge of pirates. The unique formations of Kleftiko are accessible only from the sea, by boats or sailboats starting from the port of Adamas. The boat will guide you to the cave of Sykia, for swimming in rare waters. The cave has no roof so that the sun's rays enter illuminating its emerald waters and create a visual experience of colors and glow
