Don Pedro Island State Park is accessible only by boat and features white sandy beaches great for basking, shelling and fishing and hiking trails. On the Cape Haze Peninsula side (Placida Road) the park has nature trails, a fishing dock, kayak launch, and a picnic shelter. By private boat or ferry, you can head over to Don Pedro Island part of the park. On the Gulf side is one mile of white sandy beach for sunbathing, swimming, snorkeling, shelling, boat and surf fishing. It’s part of the extensive chain of barrier islands extending along Florida's Gulf Coast. Home to endangered species such as West Indian manatees, bald eagles and American oystercatchers.
