These were the famous head Quarters of the allied invasion of Sicily... As well as the general defense HQ during the awful days of defense in the second world war. Definitely a must!
This is 45 metres underground. You can get to it easily by going to the Upper Baraka gardens just as you enter Valletta

If you are a history buff, particularly of militant history, then make sure not to miss a trip to the Lascaris War Rooms which are located 45 meters below ground. The rooms are actually tunnels underneath the Upper Barracca Gardens and were used in World War Two. They consist of chambers that would have been used as strategic headquarters and it was here that all the main defensive plans to keep Malta safe would have been drawn up.
