Ali & Nino, also known as the ‘Statue of Love’, the metal sculpture was created in 2010 by Georgian artist Tamara Kvesitadze. The two figures, Ali and Nino, come from the pages of Kurban Said’s novel of the same name. You can visit the sculpture any time of day, but it’s best to come at 7pm when the revolving platform starts moving. The two figures slide together, merging for an instant before drifting apart again.

This monument is among World’s 10 Most Romantic Statues. The monument represents figures of a man and a woman moving in circles for about 8-10 minutes and eventually passing through each other, forming one whole body for several second. Moving statues of lovers are created by Tamar Kvesitadze based on the characters in the novel “Ali & Nino.”
