Tunel is a feniculer going one station down to Karakoy and back very useful for going to the old city center as you can catch the tram from Karakoy...

It's the first funicular railway and the second subway in the world, officially opened in 1875, during reing of Sultan Abdulhamit, the ruler of Ottoman Empire. Still it operates between Karaköy (Galata) and Taksim.
