This is also on the 'Outlander' trail. Famous as the ' ship that never sailed' it has the remarkable feature that it really looks like a ship when approached form the water. You can get stunning views of all three bridges over the forth and there is a beach with a picnic area nearby.

Walk The foreshore path to Blackness, or take a bus, visit the castle and take in the views across the Forth and the 3 bridges

Season 1 and 2. Standing looking out over the Firth of Forth near Edinburgh is the impressive Blackness Castle, often referred to as ‘the ship that never sailed’ due to its ship- like shape. This 15th century fortress provides the setting for the Fort William headquarters of Black Jack Randall, as well as featuring in the heart-wrenching scene of Jamie’s incarceration. About 40 minutes drive from Kirkcaldy

Allegedly built as an "unsinkable ship" there are amazing views of the bridges across the Firth of Forth from here. The castle also has some nice exhibits/plaques showing you what life in the castle would have been like.
