I love this theater that was built in the 1920s! It has a very old, glamorous 20s looking feel to it. The theater is beautifully painted, with a fake peacock perched up high on stage, fake star lights on the ceiling, etc. I recommend seeing a show here if you can. You can also see slam story shows on every second Tuesday of the month - however, you must buy tickets when they go on sale the week before. It gets crowded so get there early for a seat.

My recommendations are basically based on my personal experience and relationship with these places. So it is natural I would include the Grand Ole Olympia. This ole gal, I used to serve on the Board of this Scenic theater and historic for Miami. It is the home of the Miami Intl Film Festival, where I also served time and survived (happens in March if you are around). Must visit here for the place itself but also for the performances.

A breath taking theater with stunning visuals! Amazing performances that are a must see! It does get packed very quickly, so make sure to get your tickets in advance!
This is a smaller live venue - and a very historic one. They sometimes have concerts, movie screenings, and shows. Call ahead of time to see what is showing and book a spot - it's really a beautiful historic venue and while it's not as popular as the Arsht Performing Arts Center, if you can get a seat, book it! You won't regret it.
