The Wellington Cable Car is a funicular railway in Wellington, New Zealand, between Lambton Quay, the main shopping street, and Kelburn, a suburb in the hills overlooking the central city, rising 120 m over a length of 612 m. The one way trip takes approximately five minutes.

A ride on the Cable Car is a must do. Great views over the city, and tunnels with flashing coloured lights - children love it! The Cable Car runs every 10 minutes until 10pm and is a quick and fun way to the Central City. You pay at the bottom. Its a 2 minute walk to the waterfront from the bottom of the cable car.
