This place is even further from Barracks Row in Capitol Hill, but I like to include it because it’s one of the few remaining dive bars holding strong. There’s an entire school bus on the second floor and you can sit on the patio and watch the Presidential caravans head up to 1600.

It's a neighborhood hangout, but families are welcome. They serve great hamburgers, hotdogs, chili, and sandwiches, very simple fare, along with beer and drinks. They have multiple tv screens usually with various sports on them, but running silently.

Trusty's is a little neighborhood bar. A bit of a dive, but fun atmosphere and cute roof deck.
