Carnfunnock is a 5-minute drive from your door. Open all year is the Parklands Café, the walled garden with its unique collection of sundials, a maze, a shop, a maritime-themed adventure play park, picnic tables a fitness trail and way-marked walks. From the end of March to October the family fun zone is open with more family activities including crazy golf, a miniature train ride, bouncy castles, bungee trampolines, a merry-go-round, face painting and glitter tattoos. The views from the walks are spectacular. No trip to Carnfunnock is complete without a visit to Cairndhu House, the ‘haunted hospital’, near the wildlife garden. The haunted hospital stars in many YouTube videos and isn’t for the faint hearted. Carnfunnock Country Park has something for everyone – coffee, play, walks, fresh air and a new monthly market! The market is held in the safari tent (beside the adventure play park) from 11am – 2pm on the last Sunday of every month. There’s a variety of home baked and homemade goods available, it also supporting local businesses. Check out the website. Carnfunnock has a large variety of special events running through the year that may be of interest.
