Only 2 miles from us, learn all about the local treasure, Grace Darling. Great for families.
Situated in the heart of beautiful Bamburgh village, the Grace Darling Museum is only about a 20-minute drive away. Founded by the RNLI, the museum commemorates the life of Victorian Britain’s greatest heroine, who risked her life to rescue nine survivors after a shipwreck in 1838. Open all year round.
A small well run museum on the history of the Darling family particularly Grace, known for her courageous rescue of the crew and passengers of the wrecked SS Forfarshire on the Farne Islands during a storm. Huge amount of artefacts and worth pairing with a boat trip around the Farnes to see just what a feat it was (in a hand rowed boat)
