Silver Lake does have a campground associated with it but it is on the scenic drive over to Cloudcroft from Ruidoso. Really pretty and not normally busy but can be if campground is full. My son and I really like it so it's on our list to fish when we go.

Trout fishing, no license required. Pay by the inch for what you catch.
